Recognised Locations

Creating Safer Spaces, Quietly

Silenthelp works best when businesses understand what the card means and how to respond calmly and discreetly.
This page is for businesses that have chosen to be part of a growing movement supporting safety without escalation, embarrassment, or disruption.

Becoming a Recognised Location means your team are aware of Silenthelp and committed to responding with care if a card is presented.

What Does It Mean to Be a Recognised Location?

Recognised Locations agree to:

  • Understand what a Silenthelp card represents.

  • Acknowledge the card discreetly if presented.

  • Offer calm, supportive assistance.

  • Prioritize safe exit and patron well-being.

  • Follow their existing safety procedures where appropriate.

No technology is required.
No data is collected.
No reporting obligations are imposed.

Why Businesses Choose to Participate

Businesses join Silenthelp because it:

  • Supports safety.

  • Reduces escalation and confrontation.

  • Aligns with duty-of-care responsibilities.

  • Complements existing RSA and safety training.

  • Demonstrates genuine care, not performative policy.

Recognised locations signal to customers that safety is taken seriously — quietly and respectfully.

What Staff Are Asked to Do

When a Silenthelp card is presented, staff are trained to:

  1. Acknowledge the card calmly.

  2. Move the patron to a safer or quieter space.

  3. Ask simple, non-intrusive questions if appropriate.

  4. Assist with leaving the business or accessing support.

Staff are not expected to investigate, challenge, or escalate unless required.
